Salle Moulay Abdellah is an indoor sports arena located in Rabat, Morocco. The capacity of this sports facility is 10,000 people. The arena was recently the protagonist of the CAN de futsal Maroc 2024 championship. The photometric distribution of the floodlights was vital for the project, which allowed to achieve excellent uniformity, and, thanks also to the power of the floodlight, excellent lighting values were obtained, to the benefit of both players and spectators.
Fael LUCE has provided a state of the art lighting installation at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sportive complex, the Rabat's largest stadium and second biggest in all of Morocco built in south-western outskirts of the city in 1983. Today it is the home ground of FAR Rabat and currently used mostly for football matches and stage athletics. Since 2008, it is host of the Meeting International Mohammed VI d'Athlétisme de Rabat and in 2014 was also a venue for the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2012, Rabat was also named Africa’s first ‘green city’ in April 2010. In order to maintain this status, the lighting system of Prince Moulay Abdellah sportive complex, that can host 52,000 spectators, has been reviewed and entrusted to Fael LUCE. The project foresees the installation of 392 LIGHTMASTER ONE with six different optics, on nine in total available, in order to provide the light only where necessary, minimizing the lighting pollution. The floodlights involve the High Flux lamp, the best one on the market that guarantees an high luminous efficacy (112 lm/W) and a color index rendering of 90% even more important with the growing demand for High Definition TV, and brilliant colour photography. Lighting for this ambitious project was supplied by Prilux, with particular attention paid to quality and compliance with international standards. The lighting installations were designed on the basis of in-depth studies, guaranteeing optimum performance for the training and research areas. The Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital, inaugurated in 2018, is a flagship project of the Children of Africa Foundation in Côte d'Ivoire. The large project installation of the new LED lighting in the extensive and important port structure of Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco, which is the largest in the African continent has been completed. It is a complete and articulated lighting installation involving the parkings and the port handling facilities, perfectly lit by Fael projectors, as well as the many warehouses that were lit with high-bay suspended fittings. Robust LEDMASTER 3 series projectors have been chosen for the technical structures, for the parkings and alleys the choice fell upon the COSMO series while for the many high-bay warehouse installations the efficient and well known GALAXY series was the pick.
Tangier's new fishing port, designed to meet the growing needs of fishing professionals, is equipped with modern facilities on a total surface area three times that of the old port. With 1,900 linear meters of quays, 13 hectares of open land and 13 hectares of dock, the port offers optimal infrastructures to improve working conditions for professionals. The port's lighting has been carefully designed to withstand harsh conditions, including salt spray. The high-level exterior lighting at Dakhla airport was designed to provide optimum visibility and visual comfort for pilots, while strictly complying with international airport standards. For this project, Faelluce LED floodlights with a power of 550W and an effective flux in excess of 78,000 lumens, with an asymmetrical light beam, were installed. These projectors are specially designed to provide powerful, uniform lighting, eliminating shadows and guaranteeing perfect visibility of the slopes and surrounding areas. Thanks to this advanced technology, Dakhla airport benefits from efficient, energy-efficient lighting, meeting safety requirements while minimizing energy consumption. Nador airport, covering an area of 8,100 m², is designed to handle around 750,000 passengers a year. An in-depth lighting study was carried out to ensure an optimum, comfortable visual experience for travellers. For this project, products from the AVOLUX brand were used, renowned for their ability to provide uniform lighting, ensuring an even distribution of light throughout the different areas of the airport. These lighting solutions meet the highest standards of visual comfort, creating a welcoming and functional atmosphere for passengers throughout their journey.
The lighting at Benguérir station has been designed to offer optimum visual comfort to all its passengers, with particular attention paid to People with Reduced Mobility (PRM). Using products from the Prilux brand, renowned for their performance and durability, the lighting ensures uniform, pleasant luminosity throughout the station, from access ramps to the concourse, platforms and waiting areas. Prilux luminaires were selected for their energy efficiency and their ability to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere. By incorporating solutions adapted to the specific needs of PRMs, the Benguérir station stands out as a model of convenience and inclusiveness.
Terminal 3 at Casablanca's Mohammed V airport benefits from high-quality lighting, designed to provide optimum visual comfort for passengers. Luminous walkways 1.6 m long with a luminous flux of 11,000 lm have been installed, guaranteeing uniform, efficient lighting throughout the area. This new infrastructure, dedicated to international arrivals and shared by Terminals 1 and 2, went into service on June 27, with the aim of increasing passenger capacity and reducing baggage handling times. High-performance lighting helps to create a welcoming and functional atmosphere, facilitating traffic management, particularly during peak periods such as the Marhaba operation.
The TGV maintenance station in Tangier, located in the M'Ghoga district, is a structuring project launched under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, in the presence of French President François Hollande. Part of the major Tangier-Casablanca high-speed line (LGV) project, it aims to facilitate high-speed train maintenance operations, while strengthening technological exchange between Morocco and France. The project, costing 640 million dirhams, includes the construction of a maintenance workshop located near the Tangier terminal station. The workshop will be responsible for checking, repairing and servicing LGV trains, with an initial focus on reassembling parts from Alstom's factories in France. To guarantee safety and compliance with industrial standards, ATEX and explosion-proof luminaires from Airfal were used, ensuring optimum lighting in a demanding environment.
The façade lighting for the Orange Côte d'Ivoire headquarters in Abidjan, designed by architects Koffi and Diabaté, was treated with the same precision and artistic sensitivity as the building itself. This iconic seven-storey project, owned by the French telecoms operator, covers over 15,000 m² of floor space. Wrapping around the building, a complex and artistic 4,000 m² structure, composed of 4,000 unique double-curved pieces, lends the project a remarkable aesthetic dimension. To enhance the architectural beauty of this sophisticated façade, the lighting was carefully designed. Waterproof flexible LED ribbons from EMFA, with an IP68 protection rating, were chosen to ensure optimum durability and performance in all weather conditions. The lighting was designed to guarantee perfect uniformity, with high-quality products featuring a color rendering index (CRI) of 90, enabling faithful color reproduction and thus sublimating the building's architectural details. This lighting solution, in collaboration with Jet Contractors, brings a dynamic, elegant glow to the structure, in perfect harmony with the digital design process carried out in partnership with Dassault Systèmes, leader in 3D design and engineering software.
The Bab Chellah underground parking lot, located in the heart of Rabat near the medina, offers 495 spaces and required an investment of 50 million dirhams. Inaugurated on August 6, 2022 by Société Rabat Région Mobilité, the project is part of the “Rabat City of Light, Moroccan Capital of Culture” initiative. The new two-storey parking lot is designed to boost parking capacity around the medina, bringing the total capacity to 966 spaces with the Bab El Had parking lot. The Bab Chellah parking lot is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and features high-quality lighting supplied by Airfal, guaranteeing a safe service that meets international standards, in harmony with the project's environmental objectives.
In most recent years massive investments have been made in the Southern Mediterranean area. One of the most impressive examples of such investments is the completely new Tanger Med and Tanger Med 2 commercial ports and industrial areas. Located 40 km east of Tangeri on the Moroccan coast the complex covers a total area of 300 hectares and in fully operational it is able to manage a staggering 8.2 million containers, 700,000 trucks and 10 million MT of products making the infrastructure Africa’s largest by far. Of course, with such an important and strategic infrastructure being built, many global multinational brands have flocked to build new industrial facilities. Among these one of Fael LUCE’s Customer corporations, a world leader in third party design and construction of automotive parts furbishing transmissions, braking systems and on-board vehicle lights, has invested in the creation of a new plant in TangerMed. Fael was involved as the main partner for the high-bay lighting of the impressively large plant having to tackle significant design issues regarding the high temperatures typical of the region and the sheer size of the installation. Fael’s project development found satisfactory compliance by the Customer’s corporate tecnical branch. Fael LUCE supplied 476 luminaires of it’s world famous GALAXY SHOW 560 HIGH-BAY series. The photograph shows a small portion of the entire plant lit by Fael in it’s final contruction phases and before the installation of the proper production lines.
The Plastima plant, an industrial entity of the Sekkat Group, covering 160,000 m² and employing over 600 permanent staff, has specialized in the manufacture of thermoplastic products since 1969.
